Hey, I’m Salvatore Barras, an award-winning product designer with over a decade of experience in South Africa’s tech ecosystem.

Currently, I lead product design at E-Centive & Ignite, where I’ve transformed their platforms with a full-scale redesign and the inception of a proprietary design system—driving innovation in marketing incentives, gamification, and user engagement within the South African telco space. I’m also the Lead Designer at Beam, redefining Fintech experiences through intuitive design systems that streamline complex financial workflows.

Earlier in my career, I co-founded MiBRAND and AJP Advance, MiBRAND was a finalist for MTN App of the Year, won the People’s Choice Award, and was named Hackernoon’s Johannesburg Startup of the Year in 2022. My work on these products was also featured in News24, Ventureburn, Entrepreneur Magazine, Money Web TV, FinWeek Magazine, and more, and I had the opportunity to present at industry events like the MTN Business Entrepreneurship Masterclass, Money Web Expo, as well as a guest speaker for Uxcel.

My journey started as an intern at SCIC Italia, where I developed a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and design. Since then, I’ve built my career around scalable, high-impact digital products, blending usability, accessibility, and cutting-edge UX strategy to create intuitive, future-proof experiences.
